Our Approach to Pet Health

We believe in keeping things simple regarding pet health. So our veterinary care centers around four basic principles:

1. Prevention

We believe proactive medicine is the best medicine.

  • Routine exams and yearly blood panels help us screen for diseases before your pet shows any obvious signs of illness. Addressing health concerns early means a better outcome and less money spent on a more serious issue later.
  • Regular vaccinations protect furry friends from potentially life-threatening diseases.
  • Year-round, monthly medications prevent incredibly common heartworm disease and intestinal parasite infestations. When left untreated, these health conditions become deadly.
  • Behavioral consults help address behavior concerns early.

2. Emotional Health

Pets provide us with many mental health benefits like companionship, stress reduction, and relief from depression and anxiety. In return, we owe it to them to take care of their emotional well-being.

Our dedicated staff provides guidance on all things related to pet emotional well-being, including behavior, exercise, and environmental enrichment. That is, we ensure you have the tools you need to enrich your pet's life.

3. Comfort

Signs of pain or physical discomfort in pets are often very subtle, or completely hidden, and frequently go unnoticed.  In fact, hiding pain is a survival instinct inherited from our pets' wild ancestors. Untreated pain may also cause unwanted behaviors like:

  • A dog with severe dental disease and a painful tooth may lash out when petted on its head.
  • A cat with a severe urinary tract infection may begin to urinate outside its litter box.

We take pet comfort very seriously. And we’re here to help with anything which may be causing discomfort including:

  • Dental disease
  • Joint health
  • Coat and skin conditions
  • Eye health

4. Human-Animal Bond

The bond between pet and owner is a well-documented phenomenon. Certainly, our pets are valued members of the family and deserve the best treatment. That's why we're dedicated to helping you nurture your bond with your pet and overcoming any challenges you may face, from health to socialization issues.
